The AWCI is highly regarded by members and industry as providing valuable business, technical and product information, education and training, industry contacts essential to operating a successful business, and is the principal organisation advocating the interests of contractors, suppliers and manufacturers in the wall and ceiling industries.

In the early 1940s Manufacturers of fibrous plaster products and installers formed various regional associations as a networking base. When plasterboard and other lining boards hit the market the association changed its focus and structure accordingly.

55 years on now the Federation of Wall and Ceiling Industries operates actively in all States of Australia and New Zealand and is the premier industry group for the lining industry. The AWCI therefore provides the best opportunity to communicate with and influence this important building industry sector.

The AWCI South Australia membership consists of wall and ceiling contractors and product suppliers or product manufacturers.

Within South Australia the AWCI provides a number of opportunities for partners / sponsors. These include Trade Nights and State Conference. In 2003, South Australia has the additional honour of hosting the Federation Conference with delegates from throughout Australia, New Zealand and overseas. The 2004 conference will be held in New Zealand.
