The Association is a Registered Industrial Organisation of Employers under the Industrial Relations Act and as such, is empowered to act on your behalf in any industrial matter. The AWCI's affiliation with the Federation of Wall and Ceiling Industries of Australia and New Zealand and other industry bodies, works to enhance the technical quality of materials, trade and business practices across the plastering industries.

The Association is recognised throughout the construction industry network and has extensive relationships with Manufacturers, Suppliers and other industry associations.

T he CFMEU (which incorporates the former craft based Plasterers Union) recognises the Association as representing the plaster industries as the sole negotiating body for the Plastering Sector of the Building and Construction Industry.
